River Rafting

INTRODUCTION :

==============
Ganges near Shivpuri is the white water capital of India and is the perfect location for white water sports.This white water city is 250 kms from Delhi and 25 - 35 kms upstream from Rishikesh on the road to Deoprayag.Tremendous white water flowing from the green river Ganges and the thick forests & mountains give visitors a spectacular experience.The best season for this rafting will be between September to June.

ACCOMODATION :

============
Our luxurious rafting camps are set up on an immaculate silver sand beach on the banks of the Ganges and are surrounded by Great Himalayan Hillsides. Our highly experienced guides, world-class facilities, best safety standards and numerous rafting options appeal to anyone who wants the thrill and excitement.

The camp consists of Swiss tents where accommodation is on a shared basis. We also have the best of eco-friendly hygienic odor-free toilets and arrangements for hot water bath and separate dining tents. Camp fire at night on the bank of the Ganges is an exciting, mind-boggling experience.

Kindly note that there is no electricity in the camp and generators are not allowed

ACTIVITIES :

==========
• RIVER RAFTING
• ARTIFICIAL ROCK CLIMBING
• RAPPELLING
• KAYAKING
• CLIFF JUMPING
• BEACH VOLLEY BALL
• TUG OF WAR
• TREKKING
• BIRD WATCHING
• FUN OBSTACLES (Burma Bridge, Flying Fox &Traversing)
• And above all, peace and quietude at the camp!!!

RAFTING RUNS:

============
There are two main sets of routes along the rivers, graded I to III (for amateurs) and IV to VI (for veterans).
• Grade I:
   Small, easy waves; mainly flat water.

• Grade II:
   Mainly clear passages; some areas of difficulty.

• Grade III:
   Difficult passages; narrow in places with high waves.

• Grade IV:
   Very difficult & narrow; requiring precise manoeuvring.

BEST TIME TO VISIT :

=================
The Ganges is too cold for rafting during winters. The monsoon brings heavy rain to the lower reaches of the Himalayas and melting snow in the mountains result in higher waters in the river. Summers, therefore, though a good time to go river rafting, can be a little unsafe, especially for novices who haven’t travelled on a river in spate. For novices, October to April is the best time to go river running, when the waters are lower and more manageable.

ROUTE CHART:

==============
Delhi – Meerut – Roorkee - Haridwar - Rishikesh - Shivpuri.

GETTING THERE :

================
Air:-The nearest airport is Jolly Grant, at Dehradun.
Rail:-The nearest rail head is Haridwar.
Road:-Rishikesh, which is about 257 kms from Delhi, is well connected to most of the Northern India by road. The camping site is another 15 kms (approx) from Rishikesh.
Once in Rishikesh, you can get to the camping site in hired vehicles.

ITEMS TO BE CARRIED:

=======================
A love for adventure and a passion for the great outdoors is top priority. More practical things to pack include a good sunscreen, dark glasses, shorts, T-shirts (or other light, quick-dry clothing) and suitable shoes/sneakers/heavy duty rubber sandals. Also pack in a windproof jacket, a light sweater, towels, and a flashlight and don’t forget the first aid box and the camera.
